Sermon Questions for October 4
What follows is a discussion guide to be used in a small group to facilitate group interaction and application in regards to the most recent sermon.
Mission Focus: The Disciple’s Path: Part 3 (Engage)
Describe a time when you had the opportunity to deliver some good news to someone.
Read Colossians 1:24-29.
What has been your experience recently in “proclaiming Him”?
What is it about Jesus that you most desire to share with someone who does not know Him?
According to the way that God has knit you together, how (or in what ‘venue’) might you best share Jesus with someone who does not know Him?
Consider David’s four challenges to our Covenant family in the way of being to others a door of entry into life with Christ and the Covenant family:
1. Invite others into your home (at least once a month).
2. Be intentional about building relationships with those outside the Christian Faith.
3. Be a host/friend for the International Friendship program.
4. Be intentional about greeting those around you on Sunday morning.
What obstacles or objections rise up as you consider the above challenges?
Which one of the four challenges might you personally commit to as a next step towards ‘Reaching Past Ourselves’? How can this group help keep you accountable to that?
