Essential Christianity: What Do We Believe About the Sacraments?
What was a high and a low of your day today?
Describe the inward state of your soul today?
A helpful definition: A sacrament is an outward sign of an inward reality or an acting out of Biblical truth.
Baptism – a mark of entry into the Christian life – a symbol either anticipating or commemorating that work of God’s saving grace in one’s life. What significance has baptism played in your life?
Read Romans 10:9, 10 and Ephesians 2:8-10. What does God communicate to you in these passages?
Read Colossians 2:9-12. What does this passage communicate about God? What does this passage communicate about you?
Communion – remembrance of Christ’s death – re-enactment of the saving event. What significance does communion play in your life?
Read 1 Corinthians 6:19. “You were bought at a price.” How would you like for that truth to impact your life this week?
Close in Prayer (Consider praying through Psalm 19:14).
