What follows is a discussion guide to be used in a small group to facilitate group interaction and application in regards to the most recent sermon.
Once Great Purpose
Consider those things you have strived hard for and accomplished. Share briefly about one such thing.
Read Philippians 3:1-16.
In what ways are you tempted to put “confidence in the flesh”?
What is God calling you to believe about Himself in order that you might consider those things “rubbish” in comparison to the greatness of knowing Him?
How does (or might) your life change as you come to know Christ in these ways…
the power of his resurrection?
the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings?
How are you (or could you begin) taking steps toward knowing Christ better? What would it look like for you to strain (ref. verse 13) towards such a goal?
What stands in the way of those next steps?
Close in prayer (consider praying Philippians 1:6).
