Sermon Questions for April 25

What follows is a discussion guide to be used in a small group to facilitate group interaction and application in regards to the most recent sermon.

Followers Who Lead, Leaders Who Follow: Faithful and Approved

How do I view those in my life? Do you see them as a part of your life or yourself as a part of theirs? 
 
 
Read 1 Thessalonians 2:1-6. What strikes you about these verses?
 
Based on the description in verses 2-6, what sort of people are Paul, Timothy, and Silas? 
 
How would you compare/contrast yourself to that description? 
 
What does it mean to be “approved by God” (vs 4)? What implication does that have on your life? 
 
“We are not trying to please men but God… (vs 4)” How is that playing out in your life right now?
 
There are two conventional views of relationships: 1) Me in the middle – serving self, pleasing others and 2) God in the middle – pleasing God, serving others. Interact with these ideas. Which life are you choosing?
