Hang-Time

(Junior High 6th-8th grades)

Our vision is Growing Junior High Followers of Christ. We long to share Christ with students through relationships. That means meeting together to X-plore God's Word, getting some Hang-Time, and taking oppurtunity each season to Retreat and reflect on God's work.

WEEKLY EVENTS AND ANNUAL RETREATS

X-PLORE: Sunday mornings 9:00-10:15am, LLRC

Sunday Morning's are a time when we X-PLORE what God's Word has to say to us and how it applies to our everday life!

HANG-TIME
: Sunday nights 7:00-8:30pm, LLRC
Hang-Time
intends to draw youth into deeper relationship with each other, with mentoring figures, and most importantly with God, as well as provide a loose atmosphere to hang out and enjoy each other.

RETREATS: There are 3 primary retreats each year in which we would love to include as many students as possible (Please keep in mind that scholarships are always available):

Fall Retreat –September 7-9 (2007), $90

Winter Retreat – February 22-24, $130

Summer Camp (Great Escape)(for students entering 6th-8th grades) – July 21- July 26 (2008), approx. $375

Colorado Challenge (for students entering 9th grade) – June 24-July 2, approx. $425

WAYS TO SERVE

If you would like to serve (or find out more about serving) in any of the following ways please contact Brently Jordan (463-7303).

Hang-Time Small Group Leaders- During Hang-Time (on Sunday evenings) we split into small groups for discussion about life in gerneral and the Bible verse for the week.  These groups are split up by grade and gender.  They are led by 1-2 adult leaders and include 5-10 students. (See detailed Minstry Leader Description)

X-plore Leaders- During X-plore (on Sunday mornings) it is important for us to have a couple of additional adults around (other then the one teaching) to help welcome students and maintain a safe and fun learning environment.

Food- Most junior high activities involve snacks of some sort.  In order to utilize our budget in other areas we are looking for parents (or others) to provide snacks on Sunday nights for 30-50 students.  This can simply look like store bought cookies/chips and drinks.

Other Resources-
We are frequently looking to use/borrow the following: vans, houses with lots of room (for jr high parties), yard with lots of space, a pool, and other similar things.  If God has blessed you with some of these and you would like to make them available for junior high activities we would love it!
