Welcome! We are so glad that you are looking into being a part of MOPS this year. We hope that you will find this to be a place where you will be refreshed, encouraged, supported, and rejuvenated as a mom. We also hope that this will be a place where special friendships and meaningful relationships will be made and nurtured.
We have an exciting year planned for you. We have a star-studded line up of great speakers and pertinent topics for mothers of preschoolers. We also have some great crafts planned, as well as yummy menus for each meeting!
One of the benefits of MOPS is all of the many other opportunities provided for you outside of our 2nd and 4th Monday meeting days. There are several committees you could join: crafts, hospitality, special events, prayer and care. We also have our MOPS Bible Study which meets on the opposite Mondays of MOPS. This is a great place to build relationships and grow deeper. Sharon Henderson (Covenant Presbyterian Church's pastor's wife) will also be offering a wonderful opportunity of connecting, learning, and discussion. Once a month, she will be opening up her home for an evening of discussing topics that are important to us as mothers. Generation to Generation is another special opportunity to connect and do something special with your children (this is a nursing home visitation ministry). Please contact the appropriate person (listed below) if you are interested in any of these offerings.
Our MOPPETS program (for children ages 2-5) is also a hidden benefit of MOPS. We are so excited about what we as moms get out of MOPS, that we sometimes overlook the wonderful program our children get to participate in. While in MOPPETS, your child has a Bible lesson, a craft, music class, and recreation. They have a great time of learning and playing under the direction of excellent, dedicated MOPPETS volunteers. The babies (up to age two) are also in a loving, caring environment.
We are also excited about our Mentor Moms this year. Our goal is to have a Mentor Mom for every table! We'll be talking more about this as the year begins, but we want you to know that these wonderful women are here to give us perspective and remind us that there is life after babies and toddlers! They're all mothers who have gone before us and can lend us a listening ear and encouraging spirit.
Again...welcome!
Kim Wood, MOPS Coordinator
