Covenant Presbyterian Church

Covenant Fellows Program

Are you passionate to see your faith integrated into real life? Are you eager to be equipped for ministry--either in the marketplace or in the church? Thought so! That's what we want for you too. Covenant Presbyterian Church is pleased to offer a 9-month mentored graduate studies program for students like you. Our program is designed to prepare you to become a Biblical and Cultural exegete--to understand and to bridge Word and world in a thoughtful and meaningful way.

Our program will engage you in 4 areas: Studying, Relating, Working, and Serving.

Studying
During the program you will be enrolled in two graduate courses: Toward a Biblical Theology and Developing a Christian Worldview. In addition we will also consider together topics like: Calling, Spiritual Leadership, Spiritual Formation, and Worship—moving from spectator to participant.  The program provides 12 hours of graduate credit (6 hours/semester).

Relating

You will join 5 other like-minded/hearted Fellows for times of study, book review seminars, round table discussions, brown bag lunches with people from the community, field trips, and conferences. In addition you will be paired with a seasoned follower of Christ who will mentor you through times of sharing and prayer.

Working
As a part of the program, you will have opportunity to apply what you are learning through paid marketplace opportunities (24 hours/week). These will be provided for you and we will seek to match your work with your interests and gifting.

Serving

You will also join our church staff (10 hours/week) for hands on ministry either in our Student Ministries or in other areas in which you feel specifically gifted.

Covenant Presbyterian Church is an evangelical congregation rooted in both the Lordship of Jesus Christ and the authority of the Bible. We are committed to the preaching and teaching of God's Word, vibrant worship and creative employment of the Arts, and an outward focus--reaching past ourselves to those God has placed around us, locally and around the world! To learn more about Covenant, check out our website at www.covenantpres.org.

Our local community combines the best of big and small town life. We have the added benefit of being in the backyard of Purdue University, which naturally affords us a wide-range of opportunities—both academic and social—and it helps foster a great deal of cultural diversity. Our location is also advantageous because we are in close proximity to both Indianapolis (1 hr.) and Chicago (2 hrs.), but do not face the headaches of a big city.

How to Apply: If you want to learn more about applying to be a Fellow, please contact Stephen Kirk (Program Director) by phone at 765-463-7303, or by email at skirk@covenantpres.org. We will gladly send you a brochure and an application.

The (National) Fellows Initiative

Covenant Fellows is part of The Fellows Initiative (TFI) which is committed to forming future leaders in communities around the country. We are an umbrella organization for Christian Fellows Programs in key locations across the nation. We place recent college graduates in 3-4 day paid workplace internships and offer Leadership graduate studies, Christian graduate studies, and mentoring. Highly qualified young men and women learn to integrate their faith with their career calling and are given the opportunity to enter the workplace with full support from key Christian communities. Currently, 80% of our graduates enter secular vocations and 20% go into full-time minstry or non profit leadership.
