Men's Ministries
Who We Are
Our goal in Men’s Ministry is to come alongside the men of Covenant to encourage them and to further equip them as they seek to grow as followers of Christ. To that end we have designed our ministry around the Mission to which we believe God has called the Covenant family; specifically, to Reach, Draw, Learn, and Go out!

Each week we have small group gatherings of men who meet for fellowship, sharing, study/reflection on God’s Word, and prayer. We believe that while growing alone is not impossible, it is not nearly as effective as growing alongside other fellow strugglers. It is a bed-rock conviction of Men’s Ministry that though men have a tendency to put on or hide behind a façade of competency and success, we each know of our own inadequacies and failures, and it behooves us to share them with others, to receive both encouragement and gracious-challenge, and to be prayed for. These groups are designed with that in mind. They meet at various times, and there are always new ones popping up. If you are interested in a group or want to know more about these groups, please don’t hesitate to contact Stephen Kirk via email or phone (463-7303).
Our Monthly Gatherings (Man2Man)
2nd Tuesday of the month (from 7:00-9:00 p.m.) - in the Gathering Place
In addition to these weekly gatherings, we have an exciting opportunity for men each month. In fact, it occurs every 2nd Tuesday of the month (from 7-9 p.m.) and it is called Man2Man. Each Man2Man is comprised of 3 components: Fellowship around a lite meal, a great time of worship in the Chapel, and a meaningful talk/group conversation around a topic that connects with where men are and what men face as followers of Christ living in a fallen world.
Our monthly themes are set up around Covenant's Mission statement. Each month we will take one of the 4 aspects (Reach, Draw, Learn, and Go out) and try to develop that a bit from a man’s perspective.
-
Our Reach gatherings will be slightly modified in that they will be intentionally non-threatening - an opportunity to bring your friends, co-workers, etc. to Man2Man.
-
Our Draw gatherings will zero in on the importance of relationships and what it looks like to develop meaningful, honest relationships with other men.
-
Our Learn gatherings will focus specifically on our walks with Jesus' seeking to deepen our relationship with God by learning together of His love and grace and His purposeful call on our lives.
-
Our Go Out gatherings will center around a man’s life in the real world: What does it look like for a man of God to live a life of purity before God, a life of love with his wife and children, and a life of witness in his neighborhood and work-place?
Our Special Events
- It’s our goal to have a Spring Getaway (Draw/Learn) each year, though this year it happened in the fall. This is intended to offer men a chance to restore body and soul for 23 hours out in God’s creation.
- Golf Scramble - This is an annual summer event we will have more information to come in 2006.
- In July we have our Annual Cookout (Draw)—an evening of fun and games, good food, and worship.
- Finally, in November we have our Holiday Special (Go Out)—where we seek to prepare our hearts/ minds for the upcoming holidays—readying ourselves to lead our families to Jesus through them.
The final component of our Men’s ministry is our special events. They will be sprinkled throughout the year and again, designed around our Mission.
Please consider joining us!!
