Ways to Serve

Worship Arts and Music Ministry

Do you like to sing, play an instrument, act, dance, or love technology? There are opportunities for all these creative outlets for children and adults in the Worship Arts and Music Ministry. The Ministry encompasses all the areas that contribute to worship at Covenant. All groups work with the Minister of Worship and Worship staff to provide Christ-centered worship services each week and for special occasions.

Vocalists

Adult Chancel Choir includes adult singers (high school age and up) of all ability levels. If you are a committed follower of Christ, love to sing, and have a desire to lead others in worship, you are welcome to join! An overnight retreat is planned for the early fall. This is a special time to work on music for Christmas and have fun and fellowship as a group. The annual Christmas concert, an important outreach to the greater Lafayette community, will be presented in Loeb Playhouse on the Purdue campus December 10 and 11. Regular rehearsals are held in the sanctuary on Thursday nights, 7:00-9:00 pm, and the group sings at two services on Sunday. Extra rehearsals are scheduled prior to seasonal concerts.
Contact Sally Craw (463-7303) for more information and to schedule an interview.

Seasonal Choir provides opportunities to sing with the adult choir during the Christmas and Easter season. During these events the choir is usually joined by a full orchestra. Participants join the Chancel Choir rehearsals on Thursday nights for ten weeks prior to the event.

Rehearsals are Thursdays from 7:00 – 10:00 (members are asked to attend the Chancel Choir rehearsal prior to the Team rehearsal). Team members are scheduled to sing on a monthly rotation.
