Ways to Get Connected

What is Worship?

Worship is meeting God and responding to Him. Above all else, we should understand worship as a personal encounter with the Living God. When we worship, we see God afresh, in all of His love and power and tenderness and holiness. When that happens, we cannot help but respond, to well up in a response of gratitude, awe, praise, and devotion, offering ourselves to Him all over again. We recall His sacrificial gift, His own Son on the cross, and we fall again into His loving embrace. We remember His faithful care for us, and we cry out in thanks. We see His moral perfection, and we confess how far short of that perfection we fall. We hear again His claims on our lives, and we give ourselves to Him anew. We hear His heart for the lost, and we determine to be salt and light for His sake. Meeting God and responding to Him - that is worship.

The church is to be the setting of a sacred romance, in which followers of Christ express the depths of their love for Him, their awe towards Him, and their exclusive allegiance to Him. Worship should be the highlight of the believer’s week, a festive, joyful celebration of the Living and Present God at which we present Him with our first and our best. We should worship the Lord expectantly, anticipating that we will meet and be changed by Him as we worship Him.

Growth Groups

Growing as a follower of Jesus means more than mastering the facts. It means cultivating relationships: a relationship with God and with God's people. No one born into the family of God was ever meant to stand alone. We need relationships where we can make friends, build a community of care and support, open up about our struggles, and celebrate God’s goodness. We all need places to do life-together. Joining a group makes this place a home and a family.

Sunday Morning Learning Communities Campus Map

Scripture teaches us that the transformation of a person's life comes through the renewal of the mind and heart. We believe that this renewal happens best in the context of communities in which relationships are built and God's Word is relevantly applied to our lives. To this end, in addition to our corporate worship experience, we offer a variety of communities each Sunday.

Adult 9:00 a.m.

Collegiate Forum - Calling all college students! This growing community is just for you.   more information...

Home Builders - How we parent in the early years has a direct effect upon how our sons and daughters handle life later. Will they depend upon themselves, or will they learn to depend upon the One who loves them most? Home Builders is a community that seeks to have God's grace reign in our homes in such a way that we are yielded to the Spirit as parents. Come join us as we delve into biblical blueprints for building Christ-centered families.
We meet in Fellowship Hall IV. For more information, contact the Landrum's 447-6033 (lplandrum@aol.com) or Ron Hawkins 463- 7303 (rhawkins@covenantpres.org ).

We meet in Fellowship Hall I & II. For details contact Marshall Overley, 497-4007 or (toverley@covenantpres.org ).

We meet in Fellowship Hall I & II. Contact Stephen Kirk for more information, 463-7303 or (skirk@covenantpres.org ).
